Inside/Nightside is a site-specific immersive installation where viewers are lead through a sequence of common and uncommon light environments: a brightly lit hallway, a colorful light installation, a dark room with a treated window. Abrupt transitions between these environments make felt the adaptation of the human nervous system to different qualities of lighting. By forcing the body to rapidly adapt between different forms of intense light and near-darkness, the sheer magnitude of indoor lighting is highlighted and the subtle but dynamic world of nighttime is placed in sharp relief.
