Competition Entry for the facade design of a Thermal Energy Storage. With only one stylistic device a different perception of the building is generated: The vertical, two-coloured lamella structure emphasises the clear geometric round shape as well as the height on the one hand, and on the other hand the object appears to the observer in a different appearance depending on the viewing angle and time of day. For the night-time effect, concealed vertical LED light strips are provided, which allow for a glare-free, subtle illumination of the lateral, coloured surfaces of the slats and emphasise the geometric shape of the cylinder. The arrangement of the light strips causes a brightness gradient on each lamella and emphasizes the plasticity of the cubature and facade.
